BECOME A VOLUNTEER!!
Volunteers are vital to the success of this program. We need to be well organized and staffed to provide a fun and SAFE experience for these incredible children. With so many varieties of “exceptionalities,” capability levels, ages, sizes, etc, we need all the eyes, ears, and hugs out on the field we can get.

Volunteer for any of the following positions:
-
Coaches - Coaches and assistant
coaches have the opportunity to help athletes learn and enjoy
the game. Our program offers direct interaction with athletes,
and a chance to make a difference in their lives. You do not
have to be a sports professional - we provide the training.

Fund raisers - Plan or participate
in fund raising activities that benefits Challengers’ special
needs participants.

Corporate Volunteer - Involve
your company or civic organization in a state or local sports
event.

Event coordinators - Event
coordinators and assistants have the chance to organize sporting
events and other activities for the athletes.

Field Staff – Help your Coach
and Assistant Coach organize the players on the field, throw
and catch with them, run bases, etc.

Professional Expertise - use
your skills and talents to help train our special athletes and/or
build our program.

Office/Clerical Support (1
day a week) - Office assistants can help with filing, copying
and typing. It is also possible to help with copy writing, photography,
and publicizing.

Field Manager - Equipment set
out; Safety minded; Coordinate special needs or requests ahead
of time (notify other teams it will effect), etc.

Team Parent
- Snack sign ups, phone calls or email reminders; team trophies,
Party rsvp’s, contact kids who have been gone-send post cards,
etc.
